  • Name: Tim Erixon
  • Position: Defenseman
  • Height: 6-2
  • Weight: 190
  • Shoots: Left
  • Birthday: February 24, 1991
  • Hometown: Skelleftea, Sweden
  • CSS Rank: No. 5 among European skaters
  • NHL Intel Rank: No. 22

2008-09 Recap

Erixon played a majority of last season with Skelleftea AIK in the Swedish Elite League against mostly older players.  He finished with seven points, but more importantly was a plus-5 in 45 games.  He participated in the 2009 World Junior Championships scoring nine points in six games.

Scouting Report

Erixon is not a flashy or exciting player, but he is a solid, consistent defenseman whose skill set should easily translate to the NHL.  He owns elite hockey skills and has some offensive potential, but has yet to show it on a consistent basis.  His hockey sense is through the roof in part because his father, Jan Erixon is a former NHLer.

Projection

Erixon projects to be a top-four defenseman in the NHL.  He probably won’t put up big numbers, but will be a steady defensive defenseman.  Look for Erixon to be drafted somewhere in the 20’s.
