Anaheim Ducks Sign Boynton
The Anaheim Ducks and defenseman Nick Boynton have agreed to a one-year contract worth $1.5 million. The 30-year-old Boynton played in 68 games with the Florida Panthers last season posting five goals, 21 points, 91 penalty minutes, and a plus-7 rating.
The Ducks continue to change the parts of their team after trading defenseman Chris Pronger to Philadelphia and losing defenseman Francois Beauchemin to Toronto. Boynton was part of the Olli Jokinen trade last summer that sent Jokinen to the Phoenix Coyotes.
Boynton was originally drafted in the first round of 1997 draft by the Washington Capitals.
