Atlanta Tells Kovalchuk To Expect Trade
According to TSN, Atlanta Thrashers general manager Don Waddell has reportedly told superstar forward Ilya Kovalchuk to expect a trade by the end of the week. Kovalchuk has been the subject of trade rumors all season, but a deal now appears inevitable with Atlanta failing to sign the 26-year-old winger to a contract extension.
It is not known where Kovalchuk will land, but rumored destinations include the Los Angeles Kings, Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames, New Jeryse Devils, and New York Rangers.
Kovalchuk has 58 goals in 49 games this season with the Thrashers.
