Hicks Looking To Sell The Stars

According to The Hockey News and TSN, Dallas Stars owner Tom Hicks is looking into selling the hockey club.  The Hicks Sports Group announced Thursday that it has hired Galatioto Sports Partners to look for new investors in an effort to sell a majority stake of the Dallas Stars.  Forbes ranks the Stars as the eighth most valuable franchise in the National Hockey League.

Hicks recently reached an agreement with Pittsburgh attorney Chuck Greenberg to sell his Major League Baseball club, the Texas Rangers.  The Hicks Sports Group defaulted on a loan last spring, which has reportedly caused Hicks to sell the Rangers and now explore selling the Stars as well.

Tom Hicks originally bought the Dallas Stars in December 1995.
